Frequently Asked Questions

Are there toilets?

The closest public toilets are on the greensward opposite Connaught Avenue. A 20p charge applies, and facilities include an accessible toilet and baby changing. Further toilets can be found on the promenade at the end of the beach, at Cambridge Road. These include accessible facilities. There are also toilets on the greensward near the Golf Club, although these do not provide accessible toilets or baby changing facilities.

Is there food and drink available?

There are no cafés, restaurants or other food and drink facilities directly along the promenade. However, Connaught Avenue is just a short walk away and has a good selection of shops, cafés and restaurants.

Is the beach accessible for pushchairs and wheelchairs?

The main route onto the beach is via the path opposite Connaught Avenue, providing access from the greensward to the promenade. There are further access points at The Leas and at the ends of Second Avenue and Third Avenue. The Second Avenue entrance includes steps leading down to the promenade, so access may not be suitable for everyone.
