Thorney Bay Beach Playground
“Beachside play area”
A small, sandy beach cove with an accessible, buggy-friendly path, benches and picnic tables, facing the Thames Estuary – good for ship-spotting. A large flat grassy area next to the beach has a loosely ship-themed playground: climbing frames for toddlers through teens, baby swings, a small nest swing, a zipwire, seesaws and climbing boulders (part of the larger climbing frame was taped off during the site’s visit due to worn ropes – worth checking current condition). Pay-and-display parking close by. Public toilets with accessible/baby change facilities. Closest food is The Bay Cafe; Leisure Island Fun Park is a 10-minute walk.
