“125 acres of free family adventure, sculpture trails and wildlife next to the RSPB reserve”
Regularly rated one of the best play parks in Essex — the playground was installed in summer 2022 and is enclosed, with wooden climbing frames suited to toddlers through teenagers, a wide variety of swings including accessible ones, a roundabout, a zipwire and a sandpit with diggers for younger children. Inclusive touches run throughout: accessible swings, sensory equipment, ramps across the play area and musical equipment dotted among the smaller climbing frames. Picnic benches sit inside the enclosed playground. The visitor centre near the car park has a small gift shop, hosts bookable events, and houses the park’s toilets. Beyond the playground there’s strong wildlife spotting, country walks and a WWII trail, plus regular family events through the school holidays. Parking is free.
