“One of the UK's top mountain biking spots with sweeping views across the Thames Estuary”

Sweeping Thames Estuary views and a genuinely strong cycling offer — this park hosted the mountain biking at the 2012 London Olympics, and today has a mountain bike course, cycle hire (9:30am-4:30pm Tuesday to Sunday, plus Mondays in school holidays), a bike wash, workshops and confidence courses, along with a beginners’ pump track and a smaller one for preschoolers. The playground, mostly wooden, is split into two close-together sections for toddlers through junior age: a large castle-themed climbing frame with slides and varied climbs, a preschooler climbing frame, a baby swing, a play house and wooden balancing equipment. The Hub Café, run by the Salvation Army, sits near the play area and is open 9:30am-4pm daily with homemade food and barista coffee. Dog-friendly walking trails and horse riding are also available.
